BOUTIQUE TENTS IN GLORIOUS SURROUNDINGS
“Tents are set in some of the most beautiful spots in the country, where guests get to experience the essence of the area - be it the arid Klein Karoo, the mountainous Cape Winelands, or the untamed Greater Kruger area. All 11 AfriCamps locations provide a completely unique experience, but they all have one thing in common - guests can get close to South Africa's remarkable great outdoors, without compromising on comfort or relaxation,” say AfriCamps founders, Manou Bleumink and Jeroen van Rootselaar.
Each of the locations has extra length beds, an indoor fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, amazing braai facilities, and a spacious deck overlooking the spectacular surroundings. Plus, some of the camps have outdoor wood-fired hot tubs.
11 STUNNING LOCATIONS TO CHOOSE FROM
AfriCamps at Stanford Hills in Stanford and AfriCamps at Doolhof in Wellington are for the wine connoisseurs, with wine tasting and a restaurant located on the properties. The views from the deck of AfriCamps at Pat Busch in Robertson, with its lush hiking trails, streams, dams, and fynbos, are achingly beautiful. AfriCamps at Kam’Bati in Swellendam, essentially a family resort with three pools and waterslides, is definitely where you take the kids.
The Klein Karoo and Garden Route camps include Oudtshoorn, Wilderness and Plettenberg Bay. Combine all three camps for a road trip filled with adventure, educational farm tours, and stretching sandy beaches. AfriCamps at Gowan Valley in the Midlands is located bang in the middle of the Midlands Meander where local artisans will enchant with their art, crafts and food. Finally, AfriCamps’ glamping safari route takes you from Kruger (camps in Hazyview and Hoedspruit) to Pongola Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal. Explore South Africa’s wildlife while travelling through three provinces and experience guided game drives, bush walks and cruises.
Selected camps offer a wood-fired hot tub next to your tent (which makes for a sweet retreat for couples and group getaways). Camps with hot tubs include Swellendam, Wellington, Wilderness, Plettenberg Bay, the KZN Midlands, Hazyview, and Hoedspruit. Wherever you end up, you’ll find that each AfriCamps site is so special, you could visit them all for the South African road trip of a lifetime.
