Wine-Lovers Meet In Langa For The Inaugural BLACC Festival

The inaugural premium wine and spirits festival is bringing something a little different to South Africa's first township

The first event of its kind, the BLACC Fest X Langa is happening from 10 to 11 November, and it’s an unmissable premium wine and spirits event with a difference.

Taking place in Cape Town's oldest township, Langa, the inaugural festival is being hosted by The Black Cellar Club (BLACC). The group was founded in 2016 by luxury brand representation company Vula Afrika, that says: “The essence of BLACC is to bring South African wines to the greater population of African people who have yet to fully embrace the wine industry, while also encouraging the wine industry to embrace this influential demographic.”

The debut festival carries this message forward and hopes to create the opportunity to begin to close the gap between South African wines and African people. You’ll be able to enjoy the Western Cape’s finest wines, great street food from Jordans Way of Cooking and Boulevard 82 and live beats by the Abavuki Marimba Band, DJ Fosta and DJ Sebs.

Tickets cost R220pp and include a souvenir BLACC wine glass and 10 tasting coupons. Cash sales will be available for those who’d like to taste more than 10 wines. No under 18s will be allowed into the venue.
