Cape Town Freedom Day Concert
A day which was fought for so hard and we will celebrate those people and this day
South Africans come together to celebrate Freedom Day across the country. Freedom Day is an annual celebration of South Africa’s non-racial democratic election of 1994.
Peace, unity, the preservation and restoration of human dignity hallmark Freedom Day celebrations on 27 April each year.
Cabinet Ministers, MPs, Premiers, MECs, MPLs, mayors and councillors, will join millions of South Africans to celebrate Freedom Day on 27 April 2008.
For 2008, for the first time, the Cape Town Festival will focus on National Freedom Day and stage a music concert in the Company’s Garden.
This event will be dedicated to Taliep Petersen this year. Some of his colleagues and friends will pay homage to him and reveal their passion and dedication that have united them and the City of Cape Town for many years.
The event will also honour those on whom the strains of their dislocation took a heavy toll and who departed prematurely.
