Rebels, Drifting and World Record Attempt at the Cape Town Motor show 2019
It’s not your average motor show when it has 4x4s, a sound off, drift shows, old school rock n roll and a classic car as a prize.
Calling all petrol heads, bike buffs and sound off junkies; the Cape Town Motor Show is back at Grandwest Casino and Entertainment World and is ready to make all your motoring dreams come true on 2 and 3 March 2019.
NOT YOUR AVERAGE MOTOR SHOW
The Cape Town Motor Show is about more than vehicle displays. The show organisers are making full use of the length and breadth of Grand West to create an immersive auto event experience. Expect everything from the usual displays to a sound off competition, virtual simulations, car wrapping, drifting, a large 4X4 outside area and live music.

OLD NEW AND NEVER SEEN BEFORE
There will be hundreds of cars on display from major car manufacturers including classic and vintage cars, passenger cars, bikes and trucks, as well as sport utility vehicles and experimental or concept cars.
BLING CARS
Soundmatch, Cape Town’s leading audio experts, will be hosting their Show and Shine exhibition. The Show and Shine will have a wide range of the finest cars showcasing custom builds, with a few being shown for the first time ever on the day.
SHOW OFF IN THE SHOWROOM
If your car is classic, suped up, unique or just a cool modern one, the Cape Town Motor Show wants you to bring it to their showroom. You can show it off or even get it sold, all you need to do to get on the showroom floor is register here.
IT COULD GET LOUD
Car audio enthusiasts are in for a treat as the best car sound systems in Cape Town battle it out at the motor show. The sound off will be run In conjunction with IASCA (International Auto Sound Challenge Association), who set the standard for how sound offs are measured. This also makes it an internationally recognised competition, although the rules are still simple: the louder you are, the better your chances of winning. You may even break a sound off record, which is what the organiser are shooting for.
CATCHING THE DRIFT
Drifting was a big drawcard at the 2018 Cape Town Motor Show, and this year it’s going to be even better. The popular drift car displays will run for the entire weekend and you can either watch from the sidelines or, if you’re brave enough, join the experts as a passenger while they take you for the spin of your life.
OFF THE BEATEN TRACK
The Wildebeest 4x4 Challenge Club return to host 4x4 tracks built for all classes of vehicles. The tracks are built to challenge technical skills and different vehicle capabilities, with showroom floor 4X4s and extreme 4X4s being showcased. If you’re up for it you can get tickets to try this out for yourself.
REBELS WITH A CAUSE
Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells will be back at the Motor show this year bringing their brand of burlesque sex appeal and old school rock n roll. They host a Marquee where blue jean, tatted up, against the grain types can hang out. With live performances, stalls and amazing vehicles all around, It’s all about being part of a styled and colourful culture, in a visually appealing set up while listening to old school rock n roll.
THE GRAND PRIZE
The team at Cape Kustoms are building a custom MGB GT specifically for the Cape Town Motor Show. This special project is a complete rebuild and will boast some unique Cape Kustoms elements as well as a 3.9L Rover V8 motor. The most exciting part is that you can drive away with it! All you need to do is enter the competition at the Cape Kustoms exhibition.
