Clubbing, Camping and Comedy – All Weekend Long
This is a two-day event of multi-genre music – from hip hop and house to gqom and electro – with Cape Town’s favourite DJs and comedians
Patrons come for the club DJs and the camping experience, but there’s also a catchy line-up of comedians to look forward to at this year’s Clubbers Campout. The weekend-long festival will take place at Silverstroom Camping Resort from Friday, 9 to Sunday, 11 March. Your favourite Cape Town DJs – including Dr Jules (once resident DJ at Club Galaxy) and VJ Jonno (plays at Coco on Loop) – will be playing everything from hip hop to deep house.
DRESS UP FOR LAUGHS
This year’s comedy line-up includes some of Cape Town’s top comedic acts that have performed alongside some of South Africa’s favourite comedians. Expect Devdondidit, Sep & Simon, Yaseen Barnes and Kenwyn Davids, to take you on a journey to the Cape Flats and leave you breathless with laughter.
Come prepared with your faux fur coats for the Pimps ‘n Hoes party on Friday night and an all-white party on the Saturday.
WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT
Clubbers Campout was started in March 2013 in Worcester and has hosted 12 festivals since. What makes this weekend special is the wide selection of music genres you’ll hear, from deep house to gqom to hip hop and electronic dance music, which keeps going until the early hours and starts again in the early afternoon the following day.
This is the second time Clubber Campout is hosted at Silverstroom Camping Resort, a venue along the beach on the West Coast, an hour outside of Cape Town. It’s a decent resort with clean ablution facilities, hot water and electricity on most areas on the camping site and on-site parking.
