CreativeMornings Cape Town
One free hour of inspiration with Julia Anastasopoulos, star of the hit web-series SuzelleDIY
“The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” ~ Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath.
Are you battling with an all-consuming creative block or simply looking for some much-needed motivation? Well listen up, we’ve got just the thing for you. Much like that first cuppa coffee of the day, CreativeMornings Cape Town is designed to get you going, only instead of helping you shake yourself from slumber on a daily basis, it’s a monthly inspirational kick-starter for anyone and everyone.
The next free talk and networking session will take place on Thursday, 11 August 2016 at the Cape Town City Hall, which is situated on 46 Darling Street. This time around, creator and star of SuzelleDIY Julia Anastasopoulos will be sharing her knowledge of the film and theatre industry and discussing the key factors that made her show a success.
Started in 2009 by famous NYC blogger Swissmiss (Tina Roth Eisenberg), CreativeMornings was initiated to create an accessible, inspiring morning event where people could meet. Now, a few years down the line, the morning lecture is hosted all over the world: in New York, Zürich, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Berlin, Vancouver, Stockholm, Boston, Milan, Auckland and many more.
Initially brought to the Mother City by Catherine Henderson in May 2010, the Cape Town version is now hosted by Philipp Schmid, and it successfully brings 100 creatives, entrepreneurs and inspiration-seekers together each month to share ideas and discuss innovative projects.
SPEAKER FOR CREATIVEMORNINGS CAPE TOWN (11 AUGUST)
The latest instalment of CreativeMornings will treat you to insider knowledge on the film and theatre industry from Julia Anastasopoulos and Ari Kruger. Julia is the star of the popular web-series SuzelleDIY and has worked in the film and theatre industry but also has experience in illustration. She teamed up with Ari, the co-creator and director of SuzelleDIY, to form a production company called Sketchbook Studios in order to bring more marvellous characters to life. The duo was selected as part of this month’s ‘Weird’ theme, which encourages unusual and unconventional ideas.
