Cricket South Africa to host 3-team Solidarity Cup
Three teams, two halves, and 24 South African players
After a few months of being deprived, cricket fans can now look forward to some live action this month. On 18 July, the inaugural Solidarity Cup will showcase a brand new format, which will see three teams of eight players compete in one match.

WHAT ARE THE RULES?
- Three teams (made up of 8 players each) compete in one match of 36 overs.
- Those 36 overs are divided into two halves of 18 overs.
- Each of the three teams will have an innings of 12 overs (six in each half).
- Each team bowls six overs at the two other teams.
- Each bowler may bowl a maximum of three overs in total.
- When the seventh wicket of a team's innings falls, the final batsman will bat out for the rest of the innings and can only score in twos, fours and sixes.
- As always, the team with the most runs at the end of the 36 overs wins.
