The Cape Town International Animation Festival is the only dedicated African animation festival on the continent, and the programme offers something for everyone. Films, workshops, networking sessions and an exhibition area are just a few of the activities you can enjoy.
AFRICAN TALENT ON A GLOBAL SCALE
They’ll be bringing the best in animation from around the globe to Africa while showcasing some of the best African talents too. Watch short films from up-and-coming filmmakers with films like Dilili in Paris, Mirai and Zog.

Hear speeches from industry leaders such as Head of Animation of Gobelins, Moïra Marguin, Managing Director of Narra no ki Inc., Tomoya Imai, and CEO of Enlightened Poppy Network, Isabelle Rorke.
AWARD-WINNING ANIMATED CREATIVES
Academy Award-winning producer Aaron Warner and Academy Award-nominated director Peter Ramsey will be joining the festival line-up for talks and signings. Warner is a writer and producer of the animated blockbusters Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After. Ramsey’s Academy Award nomination came for his work on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which won a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film in January this year. They’ll be giving their insight into animation and their experience in using it to tell stories.

TICKETS TO THE 2019 CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FESTIVAL
Full three-day passes cost R600pp, students pay R300pp. Day passes cost R280pp. The outdoor cinema costs R50pp.
