Who wouldn't want to Cuddle with Elephant Orphans?
Have a up-close and personal encounter with an orphan elephant in the Knysna Elephant Park
The Knysna Elephant Park was born to save elephants in the Knysna Forest, who once roamded the area in large number. These days a mere 3 wild Knysna Elephants have been reported to survive in the dwindled forest area, making their future uncertain.
Most of the elephants living at Knysna Elephant Park these days are orphans rescued from culling operations in the Kruger Park, except for Thandi who was born here. The Knysna Elephant Park provides these creatures with the best board and lodging, in a controlled but free range environment in the heart of the Garden Route in South Africa.
One of the highlights at Knysna Elephant Park is a guided walking tour in the Knysna forest alongside the African elephants.
