Cape Town International Soccer Challenge
World Class football expected during the Cape Town International Challenge
The City of Cape Town, in partnership with the South African Football Association (SAFA) and the Provincial Government of the Western Cape, will host the first Cape Town International Challenge from 08 – 10 April 2010.
This football competition will see under-20 teams from South Africa, Nigeria, 2014 World Cup host country Brazil and current under-20 world champions Ghana, participate in the hopes of winning an exciting new title.
It is planned that the Cape Town International Challenge will become an annual event and will form part of the City’s goal to leave a legacy long after the FIFA World Cup 2010™ events.
“The City is very pleased that this event gives us an opportunity to test our readiness and encourages Capetonians to enjoy the event along with us,” said Executive Deputy Mayor, Alderman Ian Neilson.
The challenges will be taking place at both Newlands and Cape Town Stadium.
