Palette and Vine Art & Wine Event
Find out if wine really does improve creativity at these arty paint-it-yourself pop-ups!
Think of a book club. Now replace books and tea with wine and paintbrushes, and you have the basic concept for Palette and Vine. If Picasso had a pop-up art class, this would be it – exciting, inviting and brimming with creative flair, the idea is to paint, chat and eat in a relaxed environment.
The event takes place on a Wednesday each month, with the next arty session happening on Wednesday, 27 July 2016, at the pretty Chocolat Bistro in Durbanville. Whether you scribble like a five-year-old or could give Michelangelo a run for his money, everyone is welcome to unleash the artist within.
A lovely artist will guide you step-by-step through the painting process, so by the end of the night you’ll have started and finished your own masterpiece. The idea is for it to be fun, spontaneous and creative, so don’t stress if it ends up more on the abstract side of the expressionist scale!
Here’s what you can expect for the evening:
6:30pm – 7pm: Meet other arty folk and order your dinner and drinks
7pm – 8pm: Step-by-step interactive painting
8pm – 8:15pm: Take a break to order drinks, dessert or coffee
8:15pm – 9pm: Finish your pretty picture, drink coffee and relax
Dinner and drinks are for your own account so you can either book a table to eat before you paint (call +27(0)21 975 2426 to book) or order some nibbles during the painting process. All the art materials you need are supplied, including a stretched canvas, acrylic paints, paintbrushes, an easel and an apron.
If you can’t make this event, the next ones are on Wednesday, 10, and Wednesday, 24 August 2016, and rumour has it there’s a 15% discount off current ticket prices…
