Star Wars Themed Vintage Carnival
May the force of vintage shopping be with you!
On Saturday, 25 March 2017, St. Cyprian’s Girls School bring their annual carnival back again and the 2017 edition is set in a galaxy far, far away. If you’re wook-ing for a good time, and you’re planning on showing off your skills as a jedi in vintage shopping, then this fair is as perfect for you as Anakin Skywalker was for the dark side (spoiler alert).
You’ll be treated to a Jabba the Hut sized selection of vintage goods to rummage through and find something more valuable than Ore (I destroyed Wookiepedia looking for all of these Star Wars tidbits).
The annual St. Cyprian’s fair always takes the theme very seriously, so you can expect an experience that is out of this world. Even if you’re not a fan (which I fundamentally don’t understand) then you can just enjoy the festive atmosphere of this vintage-centred extravaganza. Just a side note: there will be various competitions running on the day and one of them is ‘best dressed’, so get cosplaying people, Star Wars is only for cool people and nothing is cooler than dress-up.
As with most markets, there will be food and drinks to satisfy every craving, all of which will be made by local vendors and some will be prepared freshly in front of your face. Nothing beats a spot of vintage shopping with some delicious food in your hand and an empty canvas bag on your arm.
The carnival will feature a haunted alley for the brave, a rocket ride, face painting, sand art and a tombola raffle. For the adults, there is a beer tent where you can drink to the Empire, or the Republic, we don’t judge. There will also be live music by some of the students as well as Kevin du Preez, and artwork will be displayed as well.
ENTRANCE TO THE 2017 STAR WARS THEMED VINTAGE CARNIVAL AT ST. CYPRIAN’S SCHOOL
Entrance to the carnival is only R20p/p (kids may enter for free), and you’ll gain entrance to the Star Wars explosion that will be the Star Wars themed Vintage Carnival at St. Cyprian’s School. Gates open at 11am.
