The Fall Theatrical Performance
A deeper look into #RhodesMustFall
After seeing South African universities go to war over the inequality in access to education over the last two years, The Fall steps into the fray to explain and communicate the aims and outcome of what is commonly seen as a revolution.
This locally written and produced production will be in Stellenbosch from Thursday, 9 to Sunday, 12 March 2017 at Cloetesville High School. The cast, all recent graduates of UCT, are also the writers of the play. Namely, these creatives are Ameera Conrad, Oarabile Ditsele, Tankiso Mamabolo, Thando Mangcu, Sizwesandile Mnisi, Sihle Mnqwazana and Cleo Raatus.
The production was produced by Lara Foot, the esteemed CEO and director of the Baxter Theatre, lighting was done by Luyanda Somkhence, costumes were designed by Marisa Steenkamp, and set design was undertaken by Patrick Curtis. The whole production was facilitated by Clare Stopford.
This piece of workshop theatre should shed some light on the recent movement, and look into how #RhodesMustFall fed into #FeesMustFall; both of which called for a fairer education system in our beloved country.
If you had questions about the movement that went unanswered or you’d simply like to know the other side of the story, you can catch this talented cast at 3pm on both Thursday, 9 and Friday, 10 March 2017 as well as at 5pm and 8:30pm on Saturday, 11 March and at 10am on Sunday, 12 March 2017.
