The Fox, the Owl & the Robber Exhibition by Sarah Pratt at Salon91
Step into an imaginative world of dogs, fox puppets, puffins and other creative creations with Pratt’s latest project
Those familiar with Sarah Pratt’s work will no doubt remember her Dog Days exhibition which featured her dead dog, Laptop, on his adventures in the afterlife. Pratt’s latest show at Salon91 evokes a similar, imaginative space, where the artist plays a social anthropologist exploring a town of strange inhabitants. The central characters will be a fox puppet, an owl, a dog and a few undisclosed others, who will interact with Pratt’s charmingly depicted flora, exotic fauna, trees, birds, houses and all the other things the gifted illustrator loves to represent.
The solo exhibition will be on from Wednesday, 27 January to Saturday, 27 February 2016, and the artist will do a walkabout on Saturday, 6 February at a time to be confirmed later. Art lovers may be in for a treat as Pratt is also considering doing an installation in the Salon91 Gallery window with a selection of some of her smaller creations, including a little puffin as a spin on kitsch 70s ceramic flying ducks.
Zimbabwean-born, Pratt holds a Master of Fine Arts degree as is known for her printmaking, ink and gouache illustrations, paper cut-out work, drypoints and monoprints. Her latest work is delicately depicted with fantastical flourishes and plenty of charm.
