The Taalmonument Picnic Series in Paarl
Enjoy good food, good entertainment and good company beneath the stars at the Picnic Series at the Taalmonument in Paarl
Culture, nature and pleasure come together at the Taalmonument in Paarl this summer, with a series of picnics from January until March 2016.
The symbol of the official recognition of the Afrikaans language, and as a language separate from Dutch, as well as serving as a metaphorical bridge between Africa and Europe – a connection between cultures – this monument is culturally and historically significant.
And what a nice spot for a festive gathering of any kind. That’s exactly the vibe at the Taalmonument Picnic Series held to bring people together, while also raising money for a children’s reading project ‘Laat ons Lees!’ (Let us Read). Between January and March 2016 a variety of concerts will be taking place at this spectacular venue under the stars. Be sure not to miss your favourite performer.
