Twelve Rooms Exhibition with Leon at CCXIX
A dozen designers and decorators showcase their style at this furniture studio in Woodstock
Find out first-hand what makes the Mother City worthy of its title as 2014 World Design Capital at the 12 Rooms Exhibition, a unique showcase of local interior design at the Leon at CCXIX studio in Woodstock from June to August 2014.
The folks from this Cape Town-based custom furniture outlet have selected a dozen designers and decorators from Mzansi to each transform a room in their inspiring space, and the result is a veritable feast for the eye featuring the vibrant and varied imaginations of the local crafters. The spaces range from a swanky hotel cocktail lounge to a mad botanist’s conservatory and a simply to-die-for boudoir to a fresh, modern Xhosa-inspired living space.
Some of the names behind these fantasy rooms include Laduma Ngxokolo of MaXhosa clothing, Sumari Krige from La Grange Interiors and Sam Lurie and Peter Gordon from Sprout Design, all of whom have used fabrics and wall coverings from Black Fabrics, Hertex and Home Fabrics to complete their masterpieces.
Those who fall in love with the items on display will be able to purchase them for their own homes, and proceeds from the sales of upholstery made by Leon at CCXIX will be going to a local charity.
