Umswenko Picnic Experience
Come through in full force to show off your Umswenko and have a picnic of a lifetime
Are you ready to have a picnic experience like no other? If you’re done with carrying the traditional brown picnic basket and check blanket then the Umswenko Picnic Experience might just be for you! The unconventional experience will be taking place at the Thembalethu Stadium in George on Saturday, 26 November 2016.
The very first Umswenko Picnic Experience is inspired by the stylish lifestyle. ’Umswenko’ is a popular word which is derived from ‘swag’ - whether it’s in the way you dress or carry yourself. With this in mind be sure to come through looking as dapper as possible.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE 2016 UMSWENKO PICNIC EXPERIENCE
The Heels Race: The race, which sees both men and women running in heels from the Thembalethu Centre to the Thembalethu Stadium, will take off at 8am. The initiative is in aid of charity and all proceeds are to be donated to a local school for children with disabilities.
The Five-A-Side Soccer Challenge: Register your eight-player team and go head-to-head on the field to win some great cash prizes. The games kick off at 10am.
The Party: After all that activity the celebration begins! Various DJ’s and Hip-Hop artists will take to the stage to showcase their talents. Be sure to catch the house music maestros, Mr Luu & MSK on the Thembalethu Stadium stage as well as DJ Thandi Draai, well known for the house hit “body 2 body” with DJ Shimza... And we almost forgot to mention that the event will be hosted by Muvhango’s one and only, Lesley Musina (Ndalamo Mukwevho).
Now that you know where the party’s at on 26 November 2016, be sure to dress-up, show-up and show off your Umswenko at the picnic experience that will have you pinching yourself to make sure you’re not dreaming.
