South Africa’s biggest independent film festival has gone virtual
The world of short films, animations, music videos and more is coming to your home
Settle in for 16 days of exclusive unreleased movies, short films and documentaries from all over the world in a ground-breaking virtual experience. The South African Independent Film Festival is taking all of its video content, masterclasses, interviews and more online from 14-30 August.
16 DAYS OF BRAND NEW FILMS
For a short time, due to Covid-19, the 2020 South African independent film Festival risked cancellation but will now be completely online. “We set our minds to creating a virtual experience that maintains all the advantages of the traditional festival,” says Festival Managing Director James C. Williamson. The festival will run for 16 days from 14-30 August.
EXCELLENT WORK DESERVES TO BE CELEBRATED
This year, festival watchers can expect a range of award-winning films. A few highlights include Spanish-Ethiopian sci-fi/comedy Jesus Shows You the Way to the Highway, SAFTA award-winning local film Fiela se Kind, and Danish-Zambian documentary The Remandee.
