Honest, Raw Virtuosos: Acoustic Acts Play At Kirstenbosch
Catch Derek Gripper, Louise Carver, Flat Stanley and six other acts
When Bob Dylan switched from acoustic to electric guitar during his famous Manchester shows in 1966, he was dubbed Judas and industry players predicted the end of acoustic music. But in 2020, it’s going strong, and in Cape Town, it doesn’t get bigger than the annual Cape Town Folk ‘n Acoustic Music Festival.
The festival, now in its 14th year, boasts an incredible line-up of SA folk and acoustic artists at the pristine Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Here’s what to expect at the festival (part of Kirstenbosch’s Summer Sunset concerts series) on Sunday, 16 February.
