Waack, Pose And Perform At House of Le Cap’s Arcade Ball
A house battle as outrageous, glam and fun as the TV hit show POSE
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to be on a hit TV show like Pose and strut your stuff, the Arcade Ball is your chance. Hosted by House of le Cap, the ball not only celebrates Cape Town's LGBTQI+ community but is also an HIV/Aids fundraiser. It’ll be glamorous, outrageous, fun and funny – the ultimate night out.
Join the organisers on 1 December for a good party and cause at Zer021 Social Club.
ARE YOU THE HOST THAT HAS THE MOST?
House of le Cap is looking for its next host in the commentator-versus-commentator competition. A star-studded panel, including Earl Gregory who is currently performing in the hit show Kinky Boots, will judge your energy, crowd-control and how well you use the House of le Cap chants and PacMan tune. Or pay tribute to Marge Simpson with drama, narrative and a jaw-dropping production. Pull out all the stops to make sure you're totally unclockable.
Please note: The Marge Simpson competition is not open to patrons born as women.
THERE’LL BE RUNWAYS AND REAL DEALS
The categories are challenging and entertaining: European Runway with Posing (pretending you’re an American diner waitron), Butch Queen Up In Drag First Time At A Ball and, natch, a lipsync battle, plus many others. DJ Maramza will be keeping the beats going well into the night, and a mix of live performers and drag artists will be keeping the crowd pumped between categories.
THERE’S METHOD BEHIND THE RADNESS
House of le Cap, alongside the Kirvan Fortuin Foundation, is hosting the event in honour of World AIDS Day, to raise funds for members of the Cape Town LGBTQI+ community affected by HIV or AIDS. It aims to provide treatments, guidance and counselling for victims.
Support the initiative by buying a ticket online for R80 or at the door for R120. Anyone who'd like to participate in one/all of the categories, send an email to houseoflecap@gmail.com. Check out the details on Facebook.
