DJ Tune Raider: My Cape Town
Top female psychedelic trance DJ Tune Raider shares her favourite things about Cape Town
Tune Raider (Pamm Legg) is one of South Africa’s top female psychedelic trance DJs. She’s been rocking the trance circuit in Cape Town for over eight years. With countless dance floors to her name, a radio show, a documentary about the South African outdoor psytrance scene called Under the African Sky and a compilation album called Divas On Decks Volume 2, Tune Raider has definitely earned her spot behind the decks. Right now, she boasts two very different offerings when it comes to her sets – a night-time full-on set and a midday psychedelic set. With a passion for all styles of psytrance music, she prefers to mix it up and feels that versatility is key for any DJ.
Right now I am... Happy and in love.
My favourite thing about Cape Town is... the people.
...and the one thing I would change: is the street kids, buy a huge farm for them to make a home on and to grow vegetables and learn about sustainable living.
Capetonians are... crazy individuals.
Describe a perfect day in Cape Town: Wake up and get a Vida double ice latte. Meet a girl friend for lunch at a sushi or day time restaurant like Sidewalk Cafe then go shopping or do a music mission with producers or other DJs, slip in a walk on the beach or Newlands forest. Go and chill at home to get ready for the night, either do a dinner party at a friend’s house or go out for dinner; then on a weekend get ready to go and play a set at a pumping party!
Travellers should not miss: a trip up Table Mountain, the ultimate tourist thing to do.
Where I like to shop: Cavendish Square.
My favourite restaurant in Cape Town is... Side walk Cafe.
Late at night you can find me... on the dance floor at an outdoor party.
Pinotage or Peartiser? Peartiser.
When I leave my house I always take... my sunglasses.
I like to listen to... Psy-trance.
The craziest thing I’ve ever done is... become a Psy-trance DJ.
My life won’t be complete without... Parties.
When I need to get out of the city... I go home to my farm in Knysna.
If I could live anywhere else in the world... Greece.
