Get out of the city for breakfast or lunch among the vineyards
You can also go on a vineyard tour or stay over in a luxury suite
Take a short road trip to the peaceful Jordan Wine Estate in Stellenbosch for a scenic breakfast or lunch, where you can soak up the views of the vineyards, lush lawn, shimmering dam and the picturesque Stellenbosch mountains in the distance.
POP IN FOR BREAKFAST OR LUNCH
Breakfast is served at The Bakery from 8am until 12pm, and lunch between 1pm and 3:30pm every day. Chef Thys Esterhuizen has spent lockdown tweaking some of his signature dishes, like the beer battered fish and his famous Prospector Burger.
The chef has also been dreaming up some new dishes like his new winter sharing dish - a slow-cooked lamb Rogan Josh served with pickled aubergine, toasted coconut, raita and traditional naan bread. End on a sweet note with the chef’s patisserie of the day for R150pp.
Jordan Restaurant, run by chef George Jardine and his team, is open for lunch only from Friday to Sunday, 12pm to 2pm. Expect dishes such as the 8-hour braised Williston Lamb shoulder and the Mozambique Prawn risotto.
DISCOVER THE VINEYARD
Jordan’s Tasting Room is open from Monday to Sunday for their cellar and vineyard tours. Head on the 360° Vineyard Tour, which takes you up into the vineyards in their 4x4-style safari vehicles to enjoy views of False Bay and Table Mountain.
A LUXURY STAYOVER AND A SCENIC CYCLE
Get out of the house for a weekend and stay over at the luxury suites surrounded by the vineyards. Otherwise, take a break from your home office for the day and work from one of Jordan’s hot desks. For R100 per day, you get fast wifi, bottomless tea/coffee and water between Monday and Friday, 8:30am to 4pm.
Once you’ve closed your laptop, head to the vineyards and enjoy a cycle on the Bottelary Mountain Bike route, which takes you to the top of the estate. Day licenses are available for R60.
