Leopard’s Leap: come for wine tasting, stay for family lunch
3 ways to taste the 5 Leopard's Leap wine ranges
Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyard is one of our favourite wine estates because it offers a range of choices on what, and how, to taste its five wine ranges. You can choose to suit your palate, but also your pocket. And once you’re there, you might as well stay for the food – it’s good.

CHOOSE FOR YOUR PALATE AND POCKET
There are five ranges of wine: LOOKOUT, Culinaria, Classic, Special Edition and Family Connection. Each caters to different palettes, occasions and budgets. The entry-level Lookout Range is perfect for a night in or a family braai. If you’re looking to celebrate, the Classic Range and full-bodied Family Collection is where to direct your attention. And let’s not forget those big family milestones, when you want to bring out the signature Culinaria Collection that can only be bought on the wine farm and includes an elegant MCC.

THREE WAYS TO TASTE THE RANGE
There are three ways you can taste the wines. You can go DIY and work through six different wines from the five ranges. It costs R55 per person and no booking is necessary for this option.
For a guided option and for groups of six and up, you can opt for the formal wine tasting with a wine ambassador. In this option, everyone will be tasting the same wines – which you can choose from any of the five ranges. It costs R65 per person and must be pre-booked.

The final option is a virtual wine tasting. You order your favourite wines, or new ones you wish to taste, and then the tasting is done with you online. This costs R55 per 45-minute session (or is free if you order 12 bottles online) and must be pre-arranged.
STAY FOR THE FOOD, IT’S GOOD
Why not stay for lunch after the tasting – or even better, use the tasting to choose the wine to match your lunch? What’s nice about dining at Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards is that you can choose a couple of ways to dine. Eat at the Rotisserie, which is a family-style dining option based around three roast options, and also offers delicious pizzas. You could also book the unique South African Table experience, which only happens on certain days.

Meals can be taken indoors or out, and there’s a huge lawn on which the children can run around. It truly is a family friendly space where the vibes are relaxed, but it still offers style and class fare and wine.
