Live Bait Restaurant in Cape Town
Beloved restaurants known for their quality food and beautiful views.
Live Bait prides itself on providing customers with a casual and comfortable dining experience while showing off some of Cape Town's most magnificent views in the Harbour. The venues in both Muizenberg and Kalk Bay provide quality food and service that gives families, couples and groups of friends a colourful atmosphere in which to spend their afternoons and evenings.
You’ll be sure to find a vibrant variation of dishes served at both venues, with a focus on local flavours and fish - especially since the fishing boats are moored a few metres from the restaurant.
Muizenberg
The beloved eatery seems to have been on Beach Road for years because of its popularity amongst the locals and the intrigue from travellers but surprisingly it's only been open since early 2016.
On the busy streets of Muizenberg, there is always a hustle and bustle with people going to the beach, shopping or just strolling around. This makes for a great vibe to be a part of, especially since the venue gives a beautiful view of the inviting beach, and who doesn't love an ocean view while eating! If you’re a big seafood fanatic, you will love the vibrant twist in the seafood dishes. The Smoked Paprika Calamari is one of our favourites along with the Hake and Chips with Basil Mayonnaise.

Kalk Bay
Live Bait in Kalk Bay promises patrons the same quality standard as the Muizenberg branch. Although a different view, there is nothing unexceptional about looking at the sea, mountains and the families of seagulls in the sky whilst gobbling down some divine dishes.
This eatery is a definite hotspot in the area because locals love spending lazy Sunday lunches here. Travellers enthusiastically make their way to Kalk Bay to visit the restaurant, because of its memorable reputation. Be sure to check it out when you are in or around the area.
While you are there, you are going to want to give the sushi a try as it will be some of the freshest sushi you will eat in South Africa. The reason for this is because it is situated within metres of the busy fishing boats which supply the eatery with food that is as fresh as ‘live bait’.
