WALK WITH MANDELA ON A FREE GUIDED TOUR
It’s an exhibition that’s the largest of its kind, with 100 bronze life-size statues of South African struggle heroes. For Mandela Day, Long March to Freedom will be running a special tour in honour of Nelson Mandela. You can learn little-known stories and facts about his life, as well as trace back his royal ancestry. Tours will start every hour on the hour at Long March to Freedom.
Date: 10am to 3pm
Cost: R20 entry; guided tour is free

TRY AND BREAK A WORLD RECORD
Ladles of Love are trying to break the world record for having the highest number of people volunteering together. Sessions will be split into 67 minute slots with activities like crafting and packing donated items. After 4pm, the Love Fest begins with food trucks and live performances by DJ Loyd and DJ Cosher. The ticket cost is a donation to children in need.
Date: Hourly slots from 9am to 4pm
Cost: R100 to R200; book via Webtickets

SILENT DISCO MEETS BEACH CLEAN UP
Secret Sunrise, which throws silent disco parties across Cape Town, is hosting a clean up at Muizenberg Beach. Participants will meet opposite Knead Bakery and there’ll be guided music. After the clean up, you can take a tip in the ocean and warm up in the Hot Huts Mobile Sauna. The first 30 people to book will get a free trip to the sauna.
Date: 9.30am to 11.30am

MAKE BLANKETS & TOYS FOR NEW MOMS
This for the arts and craft lovers. Thula Baba Project, which equips new mothers with the tools and knowledge needed to improve baby development, is hosting a crafts day with Christ Church Constantia. You can knit and crochet blankets, sew clothes, make toys for daycare, cut fleece blankets, and more in 67 minute slots.
Date: 10.30am to 6pm
Cost: Free entry, book via Google Forms
