All You Need to Know About the Fight of The Century: Mayweather vs McGregor

The fight of the century, hailed as “the money fight”, will be broadcast live on Supersport 2 and Maximo 1 in South Africa from 1am (the fight starts at 5am local time) Sunday, 27 August 2017.
The undefeated boxer Floyd “Money” Mayweather and two-weight UFC World Champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor have agreed to a boxing match. The fight is expected to be the highest grossing event in combat sports history.
FLOYD 'MONEY' MAYWEATHER JR.
Born on 24 February 1977, Floyd Mayweather Junior has been hailed as the greatest boxer in the history of the sport. He is undefeated in his professional boxing career and a five-division world champion. Often referred to as the best defensive boxer, Mayweather Junior is also the most accurate puncher in the business. Floyd Mayweather Junior hung up his gloves after securing victory against Andre Berto in September 2015, ending his career with a 49-0 record. Should he defeat Conor McGregor, he will surpass the record of Rocky Marciano which also stands at 49-0.
Did you know?nbsp;The last time Mayweather Jr. tasted defeat was in the 1996 Olympic semifinals when he lost to Bulgaria’s Serafim Todorov.
CONOR 'NOTORIOUS' MCGREGOR
Conor McGregor, born on 14 July 1988, is the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion and former UFC Featherweight Champion. He will be making his professional boxing debut when he gets in the ring with Mayweather. McGregor’s record stands at 24 fights, 21 of which were victories with just three defeats. His powerful left-hand is responsible for 18 knockouts out of his 21 victories.
