Mofunk it up in Cape Town
101st Mofunk Party promises a spruced-up evening of soulful sounds at Bambu
Cape Town has a connection with Mofunk parties, probably one of the oldest party names, launched in Cape Town on the 40th anniversary of Motown records in May 1998.
The Mofunk parties in Cape Town celebrate all that encapsulates the very soul of the Motown era, ranging from Soul classics to Disco anthems and ignited by rare Funk.
The definition of a Mofunk party can be described as A "Hip Movement", as you learn to think from the hip on down. This is indeed the redefinition of having a good time, with a stylish twist.
Mofunk parties first started at Club 169 on Long in Cape Town, and since then, there have been 100 national Mofunk events in the last decade, held in the best and funky clubs in the Mother City, Durban and Johannesburg.
The club nights have been well received with over 67 000 people bearing witness to the Mofunk Phenomenon, the ultimate Disco Inferno…
The events are styled for the evening, by way of music as well as décor, which creates a glamorous atmosphere conducive to having that special evening in town.
The success of the parties also owes much to the unique and excellent crowds they attract, and one can either dance or amiably chat the night away.
The 101st Mofunk party is to be held at Cape Town Club Bambu on Somerset road in Greenpoint on 1st November and the DJ line-up features some exciting new talent.
Next up is MRMO ( Mofunk ) dropping Disco anthems and Funk classics.
Diggr Barnz (forgotten Free-quencies) makes a welcome debut, spicing it up with a Dirty Funk Afrobeat flavour, dropping dusty jewels and suprise 7 inch gems.
