Star Trek legend William Shatner in Cape Town for mini-series
Captain Kirk loves the Mother City
Last Update 14 March 2017
William Shatner, or more famously known as Captain James T Kirk, has descended upon Cape Town to film a new mini-series and has gone twitter mad with affection for our Mother City (who wouldn't, right?).
Also famously known for his role as Denny Crane in Boston Legal, the 85 year old Canadian actor has joined the cast of The Indian Detective in a Cape-centered twitter frenzy since landing here for the filming of the four part comedy-drama which started in and around Cape Town on 18 February 2017.
The show stars Canadian comedian Russell Peters as a Toronto cop who finds himself unexpectedly investigating a murder in his parent’ Indian Homeland. Although Peters has also taken to Instagram, with some lovely pictures of the Mother City- it is Shatner who has taken to social media about all his adventures in the Cape Town.
Here are some of his tweets showing of the wonder that is the Mother City.
Showing off the magnificent Table Mountain with the cable car coming down;
and of course, Cape Point;
Russell Peters also had some great things on his Instagram;
