Amarula's Best African Retreat
Vote for your favourite holiday destination in Africa
Everyone has a favourite holiday spot where they like to go to let their hair down. Whether it’s a holiday cottage in Hermanus or a 5-star hotel in Mozambique, you think of it as your sanctuary.
Now’s your chance to share your favourite hide-away with the rest of South Africa by voting for your favourite African destination in the 2009 Amarula Best Retreats in Africa Awards.
After a complex nomination process the 2009 Amarula Best Retreats in Africa Awards have closed their entries for nominations. The reigns have been handed over to consumers who now have the opportunity to participate in the voting for their favourite top retreat.
By taking part in the Amarula Consumer Choice Award, the public get a turn to voice their opinion and let the world know who should be named as Africa’s best retreat.
The retreat that earns the most votes through the interactive online voting process will win the Consumer Choice Award. This category is one of the many categories in the Amarula Best Retreats in Africa Awards and is considered the most telling as it is voted for by the consumers themselves.
The consumers’ vote is crucial, as the unique category gives the public vote just as much weight as the industry experts on the judging panel.
By voting, one lucky consumer will be in line to win a luxury Amarula Experience at Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa in Mombasa, Kenya. This luxurious resort was the winner of the last year’s Most Innovative Retreat category in the Amarula Best Retreat in Africa Awards.
As a continent, Africa continues to grow as a destination of choice for the local and overseas traveller. The continent has received significant interest from the international market, especially in the 5-star luxury hotel and resort industry.
If your favourite destination hasn’t been nominated there is still a chance to vote for it through a wild card entry. This option gives consumers the chance to vote for a retreat that hasn’t already been entered into the Awards, but whom they feel should be recognised and nominated.
So do your bit to boost African destinations and take on the judges. Learn more about casting your vote and the competition details on the Amarula website - www.travel.iafrica.com - voting closes on 15 September 2009.
