Directions from Cape Town International Airport to Paarl
There are so many reasons why Paarl can be your first stop from the Airport when you arrive in Cape Town
Directions Cape Town International Airport to Paarl
Follow the road out of the airport, signs directing you to the N2, one of the two main high ways connection Cape Town to the Winelands. Take the N2 in direction Somerset West until you get the R300 turn off. Turn left onto R300 towards Bellville and follow the R300 until the N1 / Paarl turn off. Drive on N1 to direction Paarl. Turn off at Exit 55 and at the stop street, turn left into Paarl’s Main Road.
In summer Paarl is best explored, with a picnic planned as part of the itinerary. Sit in the shade under big trees, with a light (but long) lunch and a chilled glass of local Paarl wine. During Winter huddle around a fire place with a glass of world-class, locally produced red wine on one of the wine estates.
The best way to explore Paarl Valley is by spending at least a night or two. There are ample accommodation options, in town and on the forms including camp-sites, homestays, bed and breakfasts, quaint boutique hotels and five-star hotels.
Paarl has the longest road in the country. Main road stretches for 12km long and a trip down this road would be like going down memory lane, as it boasts a mosaic of great examples of Cape Dutch, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco architecture.
The scenic beauty of the Paarl Valley tempts many visitors to jump in their cars and drive along many of the scenic routes along the surrounding mountains and in the valley. In 1836, the diversity of fauna and flora even attracted the father of evolution, Charles Darwin, to Paarl.
If you have children, keep them entertained and pay a visit to the crocodile farm, snake park or glass-blowing studio.
