José Dias is a Portuguese-born Stellenbosch-trained pianist who graduated cum laude no less. He’s one of the city’s most active coaches of new talent. He lectures at UCT and his first job was as a coach for Cape Town Opera, all the while being a performer. He’s travelled the world and has worked with some big names (he just got back from a tour in Lisbon).
MAYNARDVILLE OPEN-AIR THEATRE
Situated in a green wooded park, the open-air theatre offers over 700 chairs for guests. There are a few restaurants across the road, but the tradition is to bring a picnic and some wine to enjoy on your blanket on the lawn right next to the theatre before the concert.
Every year, the open-air theatre hosts live performances of theatre, ballet, orchestra, comedy and more under the stars.
