Radio Raps at GrandWest Casino
Comedian Radio Raps taking the stage in a one man show in the Mother City
Radio Raps will be performing in Cape Town on Friday, 19 May 2017 in what is sure to be a bladdy funny show, at the dazzling GrandWest Casino.
The comedian has turned the world of Afrikaans humour upside down just like the signature neon visors he is known to wear. If you’re unfamiliar with him, you may be a little confused when your Google search of him reveals three different names. In short, Radio Raps is his entertainment brand and comedian title. Jonathan, a persona he created in a popular YouTube video, has become his nom-de-plume in South Africa. His actual name is Rikus de Beer.
Rikus made his mark in South Africa when he started releasing humorous YouTube videos in 2014 that went viral. These videos have since earned him thousands of YouTube subscribers on his channel, where he frequently posts new videos. Rikus talks about anything and everything from how to do a photoshoot for all the wannabe models out there, to bits on how he would coach the Lions Rugby Team. He has recently also made his way onto the big screen where his character, Jonathan, appears as the lovable protagonist of a film by the same name.
His brand of comedy is one that emphasizes the endlessly weird and hilarious things that make up the everyday. It is with genuine wit, an impressive range of facial expressions, some singing and an undeniable charm that Radio Raps shares his unique take on life through various platforms, including the stage.
The three-hour show in the Grand Arena at GrandWest Casino is sure to attract many Afrikaans speaking fans who are keen for a lekker lag. So chanas, if you’re eager to witness the kiffness that is Radio Raps, book yourself a ticket. Oh, and don’t forget your visor.
