Restaurants Open Till Late in Cape Town and Surrounds
No matter whether you’re out on the jol or just chilling at home, when the late night hunger cravings start calling you know you have to answer
Last Update: December 22, 2016
We have all experienced it. It’s 1am and you’re starving. You may be at home or you may not be. There may be food in the fridge or there may not be. Whatever the situation, when you’re hungry, you’re hungry and it’s time to eat. Right now. But trying to find a restaurant that is open past midnight in Cape Town can be rather tricky and let’s face it those generic fast food chains don’t always cut it.
Because we feel your (hunger) pain we have put together a selection of late-night eateries – that is not your average 24-hour [insert fast food joint name here] – that serves glorious food options until all hours of the morning.
Franky’s Diner
Situated in the heart of Sea Point, this authentic 50s-style eatery serves up a mean burger, fries and shake all day, every day. No matter the time, customers are invited to sit back, relax and listen to some awesome tunes by the likes of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and other music legends from that era. Take a seat at the counter on the comfy red vinyl stools or cuddle up close in the back booth, Franky’s doors are open 24/7 – that is 24 hours a day, seven days a week. What’s more, Franky’s offers its customers the ultimate eating challenge in the form of the Chubby Burger. Competitors must devour the enormous hamburger – six beef patties, bacon, cheese, jalapeno chillies and fries plus all the trimmings – in less than 10 minutes. If you defeat the monstrous bun-and-six-patty combo not only is your meal FREE, but your name is also written on Franky’s wall of fame and you get a t-shirt to prove it!
NOTE: Franky’s Diner is licensed to sell liquor until 4am.
