Winter-Style Wine Pairings
Wineries in the Breedekloof Valley are pairing their wares with a winter winner
Cure any winter weariness at the annual Breedekloof Soetes & Soup festival on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July 2019, when wineries in the Rawsonville, Slanghoek, Goudini and Breede River areas will be serving homemade country soup with red or dessert wines.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Purchase your weekend passport online, choose your first stop and exchange your ticket for your Soetes & Soup passport, which includes coupons for soup and wine tasting.
Don’t miss the shiraz ice-cream or the cupcake and wine pairing at Kirabo, the chocolate soup and port tasting at Bergsig or the Ramkiekie Farmer’s Market at Mountain Ridge.
NEW IN 2019
This year, the wineries are also offering private tutored tastings presented by their winemakers, available only by booking and with limited space. Check out the premium wine events programme online.
ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILYEach participating winery and venue offers an impressive array of entertainment, including live music, family activities, food stalls and more. Along with the hearty homemade soups, there’ll be winter comfort foods like pancakes, burgers, roosterkoek and vetkoek.
Let the kids loose on the bungee trampoline, jumping castles, jungle gyms, a Rocket Chaser carousel and Space Gyro, or send them for face painting while you savour your soup and wine.
