Free Tasting of Loose-leaf Teas From China
New to Cape Town: Royaltea bar serves premium teas and other treats

Royaltea, the speciality tea bar, is on a mission to redefine tea culture by moving it away from what’s offered by commercial tea companies using inferior ingredients.
Every Saturday, between 4pm and 6pm in Kloof Street, you can join the movement by trying out the week’s featured exotic tea for free.
KNOW WHERE YOUR TEA COMES FROM
Royaltea is not only changing tea’s sometimes fuddy-duddy face, it's also insisting on quality ingredients. “I felt excited about the new direction that tea was taking in China and wanted to help spread it across the world ... Asian tea drinks with more of the special flavours I grew up with” smiles Zhou.
Royaltea, originating in Guangdong province in China, sources their speciality tea from Japan and China. Tea bases include green tea, oolong, matcha (an antioxidant-rich green powder).

FRUIT, CHEESE, AND BUBBLES IN YOUR TEA
Royaltea drinks also come with a kick. Their signature drink is cheese tea, but they also serve fruit teas (with real fruit and jams), a typically cold, sweet milky tea that’s shaken (hence bubble) served with chewy tapioca pearls, and teas topped with Oreo and Kit Kat crumbs.
That’s not to say you can’t get the full Royaltea experience every day. There are three Royaltea outlets in Cape Town, and the Kloof Street and V&A branches (at the V&A Food Market) are open Monday to Sunday. The stand at the Old Biscuit Mill is open every Saturday at the Neighbourgoods Market. There’s a range of exciting flavours served daily, hot or cold, at the Asian tea bars by Royaltea in Cape Town.
