Support A Forever-Dog or Cat This Christmas
Forget about Black Friday. Shop ‘til you drop at this market and support a good cause at the same time
If you’re looking for a Christmas gift that will make a difference, out in Fish Hoek TEARS Animal Rescue is hosting their fourth annual Christmas Market. There you’ll find beautiful plants in all sizes, various hand-crafted jewellery, ceramic bowls and crocheted toys. Plus, you can also buy your pooch a gift or two while you’re there. There's also a tea garden by the Fish Hoek Civic Center you can spend your Saturday wandering around in on 5 December.
SHOP ‘TIL YOU DROP
All vendors are supporting TEARS with donations. You’ll be able to shop for dog and cat toys, treats and accessories, pot plants, books, bric-n-brac, and other paraphernalia. Support local and buy festive gifts such as jewellery, handmade beauty products, beadwork, ceramics and journals, as well as ladies beach- and casual-wear. The kids will love the toys, teddy bears, fairy outfits and Barbie clothes.
SUPPORT THE PUPS AND WIN
You’ll also be able to get your Christmas decorations, table decor and cards and other TEARS merchandise. Take a chance and support a good cause if you want to get lucky and win various raffle items. Last year there was an LG 50” plasma widescreen TV with a stand up for grabs, and this year prizes are expected to be just as good.
DOGS AND PUPS
You can play and fall in love with dogs and pups who will be coming through from the kennels during the course of the market for the adoptathon drive. There will be an information table at the market promoting all the TEARS’ initiatives with a special focus on the Pay-for-a-Spay programme.
FOOD AND DRINKS
Vendors include Gap Coffee, Stand Easy food truck, and many more. You can indulge in waffles, samoosas, slushes and a variety of home produce and decadent cakes and sweets to take away or eat on the spot. Stock up on Christmas cakes and bakes, savouries, jams and confectionery.
A GOOD CAUSE
The market is made possible by TEARS volunteers and the support of the market traders. The funds raised are helping TEARS to assist local communities with cat and dog sterilisations, vaccinations and pet education through the veterinary clinic, the mobile clinic van and the Feral Cat Project.
FREE ENTRANCE
