The Raptor Room is back, and so are live events

Happy hour, happy food, happy vibes. The Plastics are live at the Raptor Room

Cape Town band, The Plastics, haveare back with a new EP - and they’re debuting some of their soon-to-be released tracks at the Raptor Room in Cape Town this November.

THE PLASTICS TO RELEASE NEW MUSIC - HEAR IT FIRST

Following on from their fourth studio album, The Bright Blue Orchids, which released at the beginning of this year, fans of the band can expect something a little different this time around. “This is a whole new sound and we are totally stoked to show you all,” writes the SAMA-nominated rock group.

The Plastics, who blew up in 2012 with their radio favourite, Stereo Kids, will get the Raptor Room roaring on Friday, 6th November, supported by the slow pop and soothing instrumentals of Grandpa Swamp.

"We will be playing a wide range of tunes! Old school faves as well as our newly released album but we will also be sneaking in our brand spanking new songs as well,” is the word from the band.

THE RAPTOR ROOM GOT A REVAMP AND NEW SHOTS 
Whilest the band are back with something fresh, they’ll be performing on familiar stomping ground for Cape Town locals, with the deeply-loved Raptor Room once again playing host to some of the best on the local music scene. Known for its quirky and eclectic style, the Raptor Room has reopened after recent renovations.

The usual happy hour specials of discounted cocktails, beers and G&Ts have been joined by a range of new shots, like the rather interesting Amy’s Dirty Martini Shot, which they describe as “a kick in the chest, but in the best way”. Happy hour runs from 5pm-7pm, Monday to Saturday.

Along with the decor, their menu has also undergone some changes with some new additions. Their new grilled linefish tacos - served with cucumber pico de gallo, avocado, house pink slaw, and topped with sesame seeds and fresh lime - is no doubt worth a visit alone.
