Western Cape’s favourite beach touch rugby tournament

From beach town to seaside village, this touch-rugby tournament is open to everyone

Combine all the things you love: rugby, the beach, family, friends and the chance of scooping prizes. The 2021 Hot Summer of Touch touch rugby tournament is happening at a beach near you this December. It’s a four-event series with numerous categories and loads of prizes up for grabs. These tournaments are happening in Strand, Camps Bay, Kleinmond and Struisbaai on the 5th, 12th, 16th and 19th of December.

COME AND PLAY

This tournament is set up to include everyone. There are Premier, Cup, Junior and Ladies sections, which adds variety for spectators. You could join a team as a family, your kids could join a team in the junior category, or individuals can also sign up. Teams can have a maximum of 8 players and a maximum of 50 teams can compete, per beach. It’s first come, first serve so make sure you register as soon as possible.

SPOT A CURRENT OR FORMER SPRINGBOK PLAYER

Bok Radio surf reporter Deon Bing will be the MC for all events. You might even spot a former or current provincial and Springbok rugby player on the beaches. Make sure your phone is ready to take those selfies. Beyond the people there are also other contests in which you stand a chance to win some fun prizes.

The cost to register your team is R400. You can register on the website or call the Hot Summer of Touch hotline on 062 770 6818 with queries. Late entries may be permitted on the morning of each event from 7:15am to 8:45am. Register as early as possible and book your spot here: www.touchrugby.co.za
