The Autobots and Decepticons Collide on Earth for the Magnificent Animatronic Exhibition of Transformers
Coming straight to you in all of its animatronics glory is the Transformers Exhibition taking place at Grand West Casino. Calling all Bumblebee, Optimus Prime and even Megatron lovers, check out these cool Transformers as you navigate your way through world-class sculptures made from wrecked cars which is displayed on the backdrop of Cybertron – the home of the Transformers.
This eye-popping exhibition will be a feast for the senses for both adults and children. Expect real-time movements, an epic display of technology in this unique 2500sqm travelling exhibition. After a successful run in Latin America, Capetonians will have the chance to check out these Animatronic delights until Sunday, 21 January 2018.
WHAT IS IT?
The Transformers is a TV cartoon which aired from 1984 to 1987. The story follows Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots and the last Prime as he battles it out against Megatron's evil Decepticons as they leave their metallic homeworld of Cybertron to search for new sources of energy to sustain their world. Both the Autobots and the Decepticons are sentient robots who can transform into various things such as cars, trucks or fighter jets.
The Transformers eventually discover Earth and sees the evil Decepticons trying to pillage the earth of its energy sources. The popularity of the franchise even spawned 5 movies directed by renowned action director Michael Bay.

- Optimus Prime: Semi-trailer truck
- Megatron: Walther P38 gun
- Bumblebee: Several generations of Chevrolet American muscle cars, mostly notably a Camaro.
- Ratchet: Nissan Onebox Vanette Ambulance, Cybertronian Ambulance, Medical Train Car, SUV ambulance
- Ultra Magnus: Car carrier
- Jazz: Pontiac Solstice GXP
- Thundercracker: Fighter jet
- Snarl: Robotic Stegosaurus
- Brawl: Leopard 1 tank, Cybertronian tank, Flugabwehrkanonenpanzer Gepard tank
These are only some of the most popular characters featured in both the show and the movies.

Tickets are available via Webtickets.co.za for R89/p for children 5 years old and up and R99/p for adults. Children 4 years old and under are free.
