U2 are returning to South Africa for the first time since the POPMART Tour in 1998
U2 is possibly one of the biggest bands coming to Cape Town in 2011 and will be returning after more than 10 years since their first visit, the concert takes place on Friday 18 February 2011 at the Cape Town Stadium - promising to be one of the best concerts in Cape Town and guaranteed to rock your socks off!
"U2 has always been at their best when surrounded by their audience, and 360° allows that to happen in stadiums, says U2’s manager Paul McGuinness, “South Africa has the best stadiums in the world now and we're really looking forward to bringing the full U2 360° production into these fantastic facilities."
By the time it reaches South Africa, U2 360° will have been seen by over 4.5 million fans.
Rumour has it that more than 70,000 people will pack Cape Town Stadium to see the legendary Irish rockers U2 perform their special 360° tour.
John Langford from the organisers Big Concerts said they have been making plans to gets more concert-goers packed into the Cape Town venue.
With two U2 360° dates in 2011 they will make history as the first band to stage live concerts in the Soccer World Cup Stadium in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.
