This Festival Dedicated To Vodka Will Keep You In High Spirits
Russian roulette, an ice bar, a snow machine and more – this isn’t your regular festival
It’s the last cooler month of the year and this festival is warming things up with an entire day-to-night party exclusively celebrating vodka. The VodkaVodka Festival will take at Hillcrest Quarry from Saturday 25 to Sunday 26 August, 12pm to 2am.
Lovers of this audacious spirit can expect an abundance of awesome vodka-esque activities in the heart of the Durbanville wine valley. Live music from The Rockerfellas, Don’t Poke The Bear and others, as well as various electronic DJs will keep the good vibes going, while several food trucks will keep you satisfied and fueled for the entire day.
But most importantly, the vodka – you’ll be able to taste test a multitude of various types of vodka, from well-known brands to local craft booze. Each ticket holder will receive five free tasting coupons, and extra coupons will be on sale for R10 each. Tastings are from 12pm to 7pm.
Although vodka is traditionally drunk neat, an array of vodka-based cocktails will be served at the Ice Bar, including classic Martinis, Cosmopolitans, Bloody Marys and more. The Ice Bar also boats an ice luge, where you can enjoy ice-cold shots from the sculpture.
Adding even more fun to the mix is a Russian Roulette Shoot Out – you win, you drink. The last person standing wins a Vodkafest hamper, tasting coupon, or the money pool.
After 8pm, the DJs will take over the evening and keep the party swinging into the evening and until the end of the festival. DJs Das Kapital, Kilopascal, Khord and Kimmy C will be on the decks livening up the night.
