New development: Village living in the serene Cape Winelands
Lifestyle centre, trail routes and R100 000 off on launch
Last updated: Tuesday, 17 October 2023
Living in The Vineyards at Nooitgedacht Estate gets you quiet Saturday morning coffees with views of the Stellenbosch vineyards and Simonsberg mountains. Mountain bike rides with the kids. A gym, salon, coworking and office spaces, clubhouse, sportsfields, pool and more just outside your front door.

LOCATED IN A PEACEFUL VILLAGE
The Vineyards, set to be completed in quarter four of 2024, will be situated in the peaceful Nooitgedacht Village, an existing security village with 360 homes. Gated security means peace of mind in this community where kids can play in the parks until late and evenings are undisturbed by city noise (it’s a pet-free development, meaning no barking dogs to interrupt the quiet).
Many of the apartments have balconies, great for sipping a glass of wine and admiring the mountain views. Image: The Vineyards
FROM 1 BEDS TO GARDEN APARTMENTS, PENTHOUSES
One, two and three bedrooms will be on offer, as well as garden apartments. The interiors are classic and contemporary with plenty of natural light and windows overlooking the surrounding vineyards. Two penthouses will also be available with spacious terraces and panoramic views of the Cape Winelands.
All units include an inverter, and starting from R1.56 million, it’s highly competitive pricing for the area.
There will be 72 apartments available, including penthouses. Image: The Vineyards
GYM, DAYCARE, OFFICES, LAUNDROMAT + MORE
Set to be built alongside the apartments is The Foundry, a lifestyle centre with everything you could need. Really: There’ll be a restaurant, coffee shop, deli and wine bar; a fully-equipped indoor gym, daycare facilities, coworking and office spaces, laundromat, doctors consulting rooms, hair salon and more.
Living at The Vineyards also means you’ll get access to all the existing perks of Nooitgedacht Village (and the neighbouring greater Nooitgedacht farm). There’s mountain biking and trail routes, a dam for picnics and fishing, and residents get a golf membership at Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate. The developers will also be building a clubhouse, pool and sports field.
The Foundry will be built at the same time as The Vineyards. Image: The Vineyards
WINE & DINE AT TOP RESTAURANTS AND ESTATES
With so many perks, you have everything that you need without having to leave the village. But if you prefer to be out and about, The Vineyards is 12 minutes from Stellenbosch and all the restaurants, bars, boutique stores, and sights the “City of Oaks” has to offer.
There’s the esteemed Kantien, Eike, and Spek & Bone by Bertus Basson or Post & Pepper and De Eetkamer. There are nearly 150 estates within a 25 kilometre radius like Simonsig, Delaire Graff, Beyerskloof, Rust & Vrede, Kanonkop, Peter Falke and more.
For families, it’s 15 minutes away from Stellenbosch University, Paul Roos Gymnasium, Rhenish Girls’ High School, Rhenish Primary and other educational institutions.
The apartments are spacious and most have a balcony or garden, making them suitable for a small family. Image: The Vineyards
WHY IS THE VINEYARDS A GOOD INVESTMENT?nbsp;
It’s well known that owning property is likely to result in long-term sustainable wealth, especially since the Cape Winelands is an area with high long-term rental demand. With secure parking spaces, an inverter, security and so many amenities, it’ll be appealing to many potential tenants (plus, they pay off your bond for you).
If you’re considering making The Vineyards your permanent home, a good thing to know is that it’s priced very competitively. This means the difference between a bond repayment and rent might be small enough to consider buying rather than renting from someone else.
There are also no transfer duties. For more information about rates, levies and any additional costs, visit The Vineyards website.
