Wolfkop Camping Villages specials, valid all year long
Each villa has a shower & toilet, kitchenette, utensils and hot tub
Last updated: 5 November 2024
There's just some camping spots that you’ll keep on coming back to. Wolfkop Camping Villages, which we’ve known for a long time, is one of them. Because the glamping villas have all the basics you could need (down to the utensils); there’s a crisp, cola-coloured Olifants River running through the campsite; and there’s always a special all year through. Plus an extra reader special for you (over and above the weekdays special) from us.

DON'T EVEN NEED WOOD OR ICE
If you want camping with convenience, Wolfkop Camping Villages is it (you don’t even need to bring wood or ice because you can buy it there). It’s in Citrusdal, a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Cape Town. There are four campsites, Golden Valley, Biesievlak, Grootfontein and Noordhoek.
Each villa has one “master” tent and two smaller tents with two single beds each. Image: Wolfkop Camping Villages
Each villa is a six-sleeper site on a raised deck overlooking the river. It comes with an ensuite shower & toilet, upcycled lounge, braai, 2 plate stove, cutlery and crockery and a wood-fired hot tub.

HIKES, CANOES, BODYBOARD TOURS
There’s so much to do at Wolfkop that you don’t need to stray more than a few metres from your villa. The river is next to your villa (you can rent floaties, noodles, kayaks and life jackets); there’s wide green lawns for playing sport or tanning; and the deck with a braai overlooks the mountain and river.
And if you do want to explore, there’s a 20km hike at Wolfkop Nature Reserve, 10km from the campsite that takes you through incredible rock formations, rock paintings and caves. Or you can explore the valley on horseback, in a canoe or go on a bodyboarding tour.
Citrusdal is also filled with wonderful discoveries, like gin and wine tasting at Piekenierskloof.
