After a successful three-month tour of France and Switzerland, Zip Zap's circus extravaganza (based on an award-winning film) is back with a twist. MOYA blends contemporary and traditional circus with the real-life stories of Zip Zap performers. The captivating show plays at Cape Town's Artscape Opera House from 3 to 6 August 2023 for five days only.

WATCH AN AWARD-WINNING CIRCUS

In 2020, Zip Zap created the acrobatic art film MOYA, which won three International Circus Awards. Following its cinematic triumph, it was transformed into a live show, which went on to sell out shows nationwide and have a successful tour abroad.

Now MOYA is back on home soil. Zip Zap has given the show a fresh twist, adding elements of comedy, mind-blowing acrobatics, captivating dance sequences, and an original score by Josh Hawks, (former bass player of Freshlyground) “to take the entire family on a journey not to be missed,” says co-founder and Artistic Director Brent van Rensburg.

BE A PART OF THE INSPIRING ZIP ZAP STORY

MOYA explores and celebrates heritage and culture, taking you on a journey through its artistic interpetation of real-life Zip Zap stories.

The production features a collective of nine dynamic performing artists, including Phelelani Ndakrokra, Jacobus Claassen, Jason Barnard, Vuyani Lottering and members of Dare2Dream (Zip Zap’s flagship vocational programme).

Watch them showcase jaw-dropping acrobatic feats, flawless display of aerial skills, juggling, acrobatic wheel routines and more to excite both young and old.
