Directions to Boschendal from Cape Town

How to drive to Boschendal from Cape Town via the N1, N2, Muizenberg (coastal road) or from Cape Town Airport


From Cape Town City Centre via the N1


Drive on the N1 towards Paarl and take exit No 47 for Stellenbosch, Wellington and Klapmuts. At the bottom of the slip road, turn right onto the R44, passing under the N1. At the 4-way stop, cross straight over.

Take your first left, turning into Franshhoek / Simondium. After 8.5 km turn right at the T-Junction (towards Franschhoek). Travel for 3.6 km and turn right onto the R310 towards Stellenbosch. Boschendal is 1.5 km further along the road on the left-hand side.

From Cape Town City Centre via the N2

Travel on the N2 towards Somerset West. Take the R310 Baden Powell Drive turnoff and turn left at the top of the slip road.

Drive towards Stellenbosch, past Spier and Van Rijn Brandy Cellar. At the T-junction, turn right for Stellenbosch. Keep going towards Stellenbosch past Distell, keeping to the left and filter left onto the R44.Travel through the bottom of Stellenbosch.

At the fourth robot (traffic lights), turn right onto the R310 to Franschhoek. Follow this road for approximately 16 km. You will pass over the Helshoogte pass, through villages called Kylemore, Johannesdal and Pniel.

Boschendal is on the right hand side, about 1 km after the Pniel Primary School.

From the Airport via the N2

Take the N2 towards Somerset West and follow directions as above.

From Coastal Road (R310) & Muizenburg

Take the Coastal Road (R310) out of Muizenberg heading towards Stellenbosch Follow this road, you will cross the N2, pass Spier on your right and the Van Rijn Brandy Cellar, also on the right.

At the T-junction, turn right for Stellenbosch.Travel towards Stellenbosch past Gilbey's, keeping to the left and filter left onto the R44.

Travel through the bottom of Stellenbosch past Simonsberg Cheese factory on the left. You will come to a robot with Used Car dealers on the left and right hand corners - cross straight over.

At the next robot, turn right (still the R310) to Franschhoek. Now follow the same directions as above from the R310.
