SA-Asian fusion, unique sashimi and an upstairs Japanese tea garden is what you can find at the Japanese eatery on Loop
Latest update: 30 May
New Japanese restaurant Tomo is on the corner of Loop and Shortmarket Streets. We had a quick chat with the owners and got very excited.
They’ll be serving up authentic Japanese and Asian, from sushi and sashimi to easy everyday meals and even a highly specialised detox dish (that’s apparently huge in Asia).
FEED YOUR CURIOSITY
Have a look at a little visual teaser below. It's up to you to go out and discover.
Tag your Tomo images with #capetownmag of course.
A FRESH TWIST
Bringing something new to the table, Tomo will also be doing their Japanese take on the SA braai, serve up tapas-style plates for sharing and host daily traditional Chinese tea tasting experiences.
Unsure of what to choose? The chef's recommendation is the Bento Box. The dish is perfect for sharing and has a variety of raw and cooked sushi. The Bento Box has a bit of everything, from salmon roses to vegetable tempura. This dish gives customers a real taste of Japanese cuisine.
Another must-try is Tomo's most unique dish, the robata. A babeque-esque dish of either eel, chicken or prawn that is esentially braaied
TOMO Restaurant
Tomo is open for lunch and dinner as well as takeaways.
