Black Panther meets Dune at Aida by Cape Town Opera
The Butterfly World Zoo is much more than a butterfly park. This lush tropical garden is also a sanctuary for exotic animals, including birds and reptiles. It’s a fascinating place to visit, and especially popular among children.
There’s plenty to see, do and learn at this zoo on Route 44 in the Winelands. Environmental education and conservation is a key focus at Butterfly World, which makes a visit to this colourful spot great for school outings or for an interactive school holiday activity.
Some of the creatures that call the Butterfly Word Zoo home is Brad the python, bearded dragon lizards, hedgehogs and tarantulas, to mention just a few. Interestingly, all animals, except the butterflies, were donated by owners and/or environmental and conservation authorities. These are typically creatures that are not able to return to their natural habitat (for various reasons), but can luckily spend their days in the safe tropical garden habitat at Butterfly World Zoo.
Other attractions at Butterfly World include a large skeleton park with carcasses of animals that died on our roads, a tea party and interactive animal demonstrations on weekends and during school holidays.
