Free Internet at the V&A Waterfront
V&A Waterfront champions free internet during and after the World Cup
The V&A Waterfront launched a ‘free internet’ initiative in Cape Town just in time for the World Cup 2010 celebrations. The initiative is the first of its kind for a regional mall and raises the local technology bar by providing a world-class service that is ‘the norm’ internationally.
While free Wi-Fi is still a relatively new concept in South Africa, it is the norm for the majority of international tourists expected to visit the country and the city of Cape Town during the next two months.
Given this, the V&A Waterfront has partnered with Hipzone™ to ensure that all local and international visitors are able to access the Internet for free via their mobile phones or laptops and stay in touch with friends and family in the midst of the football festivities.
The V&A Waterfront expects over 100 000 local and international visitors over the course of the upcoming tournament. Everyone will be able to stay connected to the world while sipping a cappuccino overlooking the beautiful Cape Town harbour.
