Name Cape Town's Stadium
Have your say on a name for our new stadium
Cape Town’s Green Point stadium has been transformed into an astounding 70 000-seater world class stadium and will be Cape Town’s pride and joy during the FIFA 2010 World Cup, and beyond.
With the stadium just under three months away from completion it will soon be time to welcome it to the Cape Town family and christen it with a new name.
Capetonians are being given the opportunity to suggest a name for the breathtaking new stadium in Green Point and be a part of the stadium’s legacy.
The City of Cape Town proposes to name the new stadium ‘Cape Town Stadium’, as this will indicate that the stadium is a place for all of Cape Town and its residents.
The City of Cape Town invites the public to submit their suggestions for a name for the stadium in Green Point Cape Town. If you think you’ve got the perfect name for Cape Town’s world class stadium, email your suggested name and short motivation to stadium@capetown.gov.za or visit capetown.gov.za.
All ideas will be considered and the deadline for submissions is Friday October 9. Comments and suggestions will be assessed by an expert panel with independent oversight. Assessment criteria will include marketing, sponsorship, advertising and revenue potential as well as inclusivity.
