The DSTV Mitchells Plain Festival is back on the flats and the 9th annual edition promises to be the best yet! Get ready for three days of family festivities, taking place from Friday, 1 to Sunday, 3 December, starting at 4pm on the Friday, at Westridge Gardens.
From family entertainment to exhibitions, to food stalls and live music, this festival offers a smorgasbord of superb summer fun.
The live entertainment is sure to be one of the main draw cards with two stages and more than 50 acts on the menu – that includes some of the hottest local artists, entertainers and DJs. What’s more, Heart 104.9 FM will be broadcasting live throughout the day with all your favourite on-air personalities. The headlining act is none other than rapper Youngsta CPT who will no doubt have the crowd crooning!
With over 150 vendors confirmed for the weekend, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food, fashion, gadgets, toys and more.
Our men and women in uniform will also be coming out to play… that is because the Defense Force, the Navy, the Airforce, SA Medical Services and the Metro Police will be putting on a massive and magnificent military display for all to enjoy.
And because the start of the festival coincides with World Aids Day on Friday, 1 December, there will be a voluntary and free HIV testing station as part of a commitment to combat the negative stigma around HIV and Aids. Counselling services and information kiosks will also be open to the public.
With so much to see, do and experience, you don’t want to miss this weekend event. See you there!
TICKETS TO THE DSTV MITCHELLS PLAIN FESTIVAL 2017
Tickets are available from Computicket at R45/p for adults and children aged between 12 and 18 years. Kids between 6 and 12 year pay R25/p while under-6s, physically disabled persons and pensioners enter for free, provided they show their SASSA cards at the gate.
